NACE-A LIFETIME OF ACHEIVEMENT

Justin and Amber Fraser were both proud and honored to be inducted into the National Association of Catering Executives NACE (Houston Chapter) Hall of Fame while attending the annual awards luncheon hosted by the Hilton Post Oak, January 15th, 2009. Presented by the Chapter President, Jeremie Millwee, Justin and Amber were recognized for their years of service and contributions to NACE and were described as “The Houston Chapter of NACE’s original couple.”

Amber joined NACE in 1995 after moving to Houston from Austin, Texas and was the Director of Catering at the Guest Quarters Hotel, which is currently the Doubletree Guest Suites. Following a brief return to the Austin area, she returned to Houston and the catering industry with the Red Lion Hotel, Sweetwater Country Club, and the Sam Houston Race Park. In service to NACE she has been the Vice President of Programs, Chapter President, Immediate Past President, and chaired three very successful fundraisers: “Rider’s Up a Night at the Derby” in 2002, “NACE Loves Lucy” with Gary Baumann in 2003, and “NACE on Broadway” in 2004 with Diane Knoche.

With a vision to become a business owner, a passion for weddings, and a special interest in cakes, she founded Cakes and Culinary Creations in 2003.
Justin Fraser used his great knowledge of finances to help get the business up and running. He has participated in several NACE events, and was the emcee for the 2nd Annual NACE “Passion for Fashion Show” in 1999. He participated in the “First National NACE Idol” event held in Boston in 2003; as part of the Houston Chapter’s rendition of the Village People’s “YMCA”, and delivered a program on “Successful Financial Planning” in 2004. Justin became Executive Chef of Cakes and Culinary Creations and together they participated in the 2004 “NACE on Broadway” and the 2006 fundraiser, “Crave”.
Justin and Amber added to the NACE Family and their own when they became the proud parents of Mackenzie in January of 2006. Amber and Justin have continued to advance the catering and events industry as a generous and innovative couple by serving as a team as the 2007 National Education Conference Treasurers and participating in the conference’s opening reception with some of their delicious products.
In February 2007, they acquired Cake Affairs and expanded their business to be Cake Affairs and Culinary Confections.
